One of the prolific writers of cinema journalism Udaya Marakini and photo journalist turned portal founder KM Veeresh of Chitraloka have bagged the best writer and publisher award respectively for ‘Touch Screen’ for 2014 book from Karnataka state.

Udaya Marakini in the cinema journalism for last three decades has given in depth study on various occasions he has witnessed in Kannada cinema industry. He is known for fine collection of words, wit and sarcasm in his writings. After his stint in Kannada Prabha and Suvarana satellite channel has joined ‘O Manase’ of Hai Bangalore Ravi Belegere sister publication as editor. In this time he started a column in Chitraloka.com in Kannada. That was hugely popular.


All the columns of Udaya Marakini were brought out as ‘Touch Screen’ by KM Veeresh forming his own publication unit. The Karnataka government has rightly recognized this book for award for the duo.
